After a brutal loss to the Mission Bears the previous week, the varsity football team bounced back with a victory, destroying the Washington Eagles 38-0 in the annual Battle of the Birds game on Oct. 11 at home.
By the end of the first quarter, the Cardinals were ahead by 8 points and by halftime, the score was 15-0. They gained steadily throughout the third quarter, scoring 15 additional points. By the end of the fourth quarter, the Cardinals had succeeded in keeping their opponents from scoring a single point, setting the final score at 38-0.
