O n March 17, the swim team swam against the Galileo Lions at an away meet at Hamilton Pool. The Cardinals made sweeping victories in all divisions. JV girls won 97–31, JV boys 86–68, varsity girls 116–17 and varsity boys 107–10.
Assistant coach CJ Bautista said that with training the new team members, the coaching has gone “back to the basics”.
Everyone improved and swam strong during the meet, notably senior varsity boys’ swimmers Vince Wong and Jacob Chu, who made considerable drops in personal times, according to senior varsity boys’ swimmer Andy Huang. “Overall, I’m really excited with how this year’s team is shaping up — we definitely have a good shot at bringing home first place again at All-City Finals,” Huang said.
As of March 22, both boys’ and girls’ varsity and JV are first in the Academic Athletic Association standings, with no losses across all levels.
Their next meet will be this Friday at Rossi Pool against the Wallenberg Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m.
