2023 Varsity Baseball Championship
On May 18, Lowell’s varsity baseball team won the San Francisco city championship game. Beating the Washington Eagles 11-3 at Oracle Park, the baseball team advanced to the Northern California series, where they will play other local champions.
The team felt like they had a rough start but came together to pull through with a win. “We came out a little shaky, but we locked in. I knew that the team was behind me,” junior Fin Hunter-Kenney said. “We put everything behind us, and we went out and did our thing.”
Although Lowell won the San Francisco championship game, they will still compete in the NorCal series with their first game on May 30. “We’re not done yet, I might miss graduation to play this game, but it’s not done,” senior Gabriel Leung said. Yesterday’s win motivated the team to win their upcoming games. “Feels good, we got the momentum, there’s nothing we can’t do,” Hunter-Kenney said.
