Softball demolishes Eagles to nab 14th 'ship

The skies remained blue and the sun bright throughout the May 18 championship softball game at San Francisco State as the second-seeded Cardinals pulled the upset, shutting out the first-seeded Eagles 11-1, ending the game in the 5th inning by the 10-run mercy rule.

Despite a series of shut-outs throughout the season, the girls’ softball team’s reign finally came to a halt on May 3 at the hands of the Washington Eagles. The team will challenge the Cardinals yet again for the upcoming championship trophy.
