The boys’ varsity volleyball team has had a rough start but came out strong on the court this week.

Although it was only a scrimmage, the Cardinals dominated Head Royce on Wednesday, winning two sets out of three.

The boys earlier faced a devastating loss in their game against Monta Vista on Monday, losing in three games out of five with a last set of 29-31.

The Cardinals also strived for victory in their preseason tournament at Oak Grove High last Saturday, but came up short when approaching the finals. Their loss to Salinas in the semi-finals was not without a fight. The Cardinals won the first set, but were beaten in a close third game of 15-17.

Come watch the team’s next upcoming game at 4:00 p.m. on March 23 at Balboa against the Buccaneers.
