No one likes to lose, but losing is the ultimate step in making a winner. On March 26, the boys lost 2-8, unable to match the swift Saint Ignatius team whose players have achieved a ranking on the United States Tennis Association. Because coach Jimmy Rosenheim has set up the boys’ tennis team to play against many of the toughest teams in the Bay Area outside of the AAA, the boys will need to push themselves harder to take advantage of the challenge.

Senior Will Chan and junior Kameron Chang triumphed in the number one doubles match, while juniors Dexter Lee and Marvin Huang won the number three doubles match. “SI is a formidable opponent, but Will and Kameron had great kick serves and Dexter and Marvin played smart and tough,” Rosenheim said. Even though the team lost to SI, Rosenheim valued the opportunity to allow all 36 players on his team to test their skills against a strong opponent.

Come to watch the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m. on April 6 at Balboa High School against the Buccaneers.
