JV boys basketball shuts out the Bulldogs, 55–27

O n Jan. 22, the JV boys basketball team defeated the Wallenberg Bulldogs 55–27, taking their ninth win of the season.

The Cardinals immediately took a lead against the Bulldogs with sophomore guard Cal Ladine’s single three-pointer and three two-pointers. The Cardinals widened the score gap with sophomore guards Nathan Ly and Griffon Shen’s two-pointers. The first quarter ended with freshman guard Isaac Petalver’s three-pointer, giving the Cards a 19–10 lead.

Ly and sophomore forward Rishi Raghavam’s four points, along with multiple successful free throws, left the Bulldogs to a 19 point deficit by the end of the second quarter.

The Cardinals continued the game with three two-pointers from Shen, Ly, and freshman guard Tully Chan. By the end of the third quarter, the team had increased the gap against Bulldogs 51–27, with Raghavam scoring seven of them.

The Cards took down the Bulldogs 55–27, with freshman guard Bruno Krenta finishing the last quarter with a three-pointer.

The Cardinals are up against the Lincoln Mustangs 4:00 p.m. on Jan. 30 at Lowell.
