The varsity softball team has earned its bragging rights over all of San Francisco, shutting out every single opponent in the AAA.
On May 4, the Cardinals beat Washington 13-0 due to the mercy rule. As senior captain and pitcher Alina Werth set the game’s pace, the atmosphere was instantly electrified when sophomore first-baseman Madison Donohue-Wolfe threw out an Eagle runner at home, a feat requiring not only perfect timing but also a strong throwing arm. The ballgame ended prematurely in the top of the sixth inning, with the help of a jaw-dropping grand slam by sophomore second-base
man Michelle Willis. Junior shortstop Katie Tam took the icing atop the cake by single handedly executing a double play to finally end the match.
Come watch the Cardinals at 3:30p.m. on May 11 at West Sunset Field 3 as they take on the Lincoln Mustangs in the first round of the playoffs.
